About the Dependent Fee

The dependent fee (also called the family fee) is a monthly amount imposed by Saudi Arabia for each family member registered on a resident's iqama, currently SAR 400 per month per dependent (SAR 4,800 per year). It is separate from the expat work-permit levy paid by the employer. It is usually settled when renewing the iqama via Absher or Muqeem, and can be paid several months in advance.
