About GOSI

The General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) is responsible for implementing social insurance provisions in Saudi Arabia. It aims to provide social protection for private sector workers and employers.

Main Objectives:
  • Provide insurance coverage for private sector employees
  • Distribute retirement pensions to eligible individuals
  • Compensate work injuries and occupational diseases
  • Provide unemployment compensation (SANED)
  • Wage protection (Wage Protection Program)
💡 Important Note: Social insurance is mandatory for all private sector employees. A percentage is deducted monthly from your salary to secure your future and your family's future.

🏢 Employer Services

1️⃣ Establishment Registration
Requirements:
  • Valid commercial registration
  • Basic establishment data
  • Establishment bank account (IBAN)
Required Documents:
  • Copy of commercial registration
  • Copy of municipal license
  • Copy of Zakat certificate
  • Authorized signatory information
Registration Steps:
  1. Visit GOSI website: www.gosi.gov.sa
  2. Click on "Register New Establishment"
  3. Enter commercial registration number
  4. Fill establishment data (name, address, activity)
  5. Enter authorized signatory information
  6. Attach required documents
  7. Review data and submit request
  8. You'll receive approval message with subscription number
⚠️ Important: Establishment must be registered within 15 days of starting business activities, otherwise late fees will apply.

2️⃣ Employee Registration
Who Must Be Registered:
  • All Saudi employees (mandatory)
  • Non-Saudi employees (as per regulations)
  • Full-time or part-time employees
Required Information:
  • National ID or Iqama number
  • Date of birth
  • Employment start date
  • Basic salary and housing allowance
  • Job title
  • Bank account (IBAN)
Registration Steps:
  1. Log in to your GOSI account
  2. Select "Employer Services"
  3. Click on "Register New Subscriber"
  4. Enter ID or Iqama number
  5. Fill employee data
  6. Enter salary information
  7. Review data and submit
  8. Approval is immediate
💡 Note: Employee must be registered within 15 days of employment start date. Contributions are calculated from actual registration date.

3️⃣ Monthly Contribution Payment
Contribution Rates (for Saudis):

Payment Deadline:
  • 15th of following month

Payment Steps:
  1. Log in to establishment account
  2. Select "Contributions"
  3. Review monthly payroll
  4. Verify amount due
  5. Choose payment method (SADAD, bank account)
  6. Complete payment
  7. Keep payment receipt
⚠️ Late Payment Penalties:
  • 2% for first month of delay
  • 1% for each additional month (maximum 25%)

4️⃣ Salary Certificate

Official certificate from GOSI showing your registered salary and service period, required by banks and government entities.

Steps to Get Certificate:
  1. Log in with your personal account (National Access)
  2. Select "Electronic Services"
  3. Click on "Salary Certificate"
  4. Choose language (Arabic/English)
  5. Download certificate (PDF)
  6. Print or send electronically
Certificate Contents:
  • Registered basic salary
  • Housing allowance
  • Total insured salary
  • Subscription start date
  • Establishment name

👤 Subscriber Services (Employees)

1️⃣ Retirement Pension
Eligibility Conditions:
  • Regular retirement: Age 60 with minimum 120 months contribution
  • Early retirement: 300 months contribution (25 years) at any age
  • Full disability: At any age with disability proof
Pension Calculation:

Pension = (Average Salary × Contribution Period in Months) ÷ 600

Example: 6,000 SAR salary × 300 months ÷ 600 = 3,000 SAR monthly pension

Application Steps:
  1. Log in to your account
  2. Select "Apply for Retirement Pension"
  3. Verify conditions
  4. Enter bank account details
  5. Attach documents (if any)
  6. Submit request
  7. Review within 5 business days
  8. Pension disbursed at beginning of Gregorian month
💰 Note: Minimum pension is 1,984 SAR, maximum is 45,000 SAR monthly.

2️⃣ SANED Unemployment Benefit
Eligibility Conditions:
  • Must be Saudi national
  • Minimum 12 consecutive months subscription to SANED
  • Job loss must be involuntary (not resignation)
  • Register on Taqat and update CV
  • Not refuse any suitable job offer
Benefit Amount:
  • Months 1-3: 60% of average wage
  • Months 4-6: 50% of average wage
  • Months 7-9: 40% of average wage
  • Months 10-12: 30% of average wage
Application Steps:
  1. Log in to your GOSI account
  2. Select "SANED Services"
  3. Click on "Apply for Unemployment Benefit"
  4. Enter reason for leaving work
  5. Attach service termination certificate
  6. Ensure your Taqat account is updated
  7. Submit request
  8. Review within 15 business days
⚠️ Important: Apply within 90 days of employment end date, otherwise you cannot claim benefit.

3️⃣ Work Injury Compensation
What is Work Injury:
  • Injury during work or because of it
  • Injury on way to or from work
  • Proven occupational diseases
Types of Compensation:
  • Sick leave: Full wage until recovery or disability confirmation
  • Temporary disability: Daily compensation until recovery
  • Permanent partial disability: Lump sum based on disability percentage
  • Permanent total disability: Lifetime monthly pension
  • Death: Monthly pension for dependents
Claim Steps:
  1. Immediately notify employer of injury
  2. Visit hospital and get medical report
  3. Employer reports to GOSI within 3 days
  4. Medical committee formed to assess injury
  5. Determine disability percentage (if any)
  6. Disburse appropriate compensation
💡 Note: Occupational hazards insurance covers all employees (Saudis and non-Saudis) and is fully paid by employer.
